A friend had just bought a house and was developing it and wanted to extend it. I went round and measured up to see what the best interior layout would be and what the extension would look like.
The original Floor plans show that on ground floor there are just 2 average sized rooms with an awkward layout and 2 bedrooms on top floor, 1 very small. Currently to get into the lounge is very awkward as you go all the way round or have to close to front door first as there is no porch area.
My client wanted an extra 2m on the side of the house then a conservatory on the back of the house. This extension creates a kitchen diner, a porch and more seating areas downstairs and an extra bedroom upstairs turing a small 2 bed house into a good sized 3 bed. Certain layouts are defined by the fact that some of the walls are supporting walls and therefore can only get rid of part of it with RSJ ect.
Sections through the building show the basic layout and style within the house and where the furniture lies in relation to windows and doors.
2 simple perspectives showing the front then the back garden giving an idea of how much bigger the house will look, the continuation of materials and the location of the new windows and doors.
