FALL 2015 – FLOATING SIKKAS
Project Duration: 1 week
Software Used: Revit, Photoshop
The idea of reuse in architecture does not necessarily men the reuse of something tangible (a material or a structure) one can reuse a concept. The Floating Sikka project seeks for an even more valuable strategy by reviving something about the tradition of a region through reusing concepts exciting in that site. In this project, we are proposing the reuse of 2 main conceptual elements in Al Fahidi historical district. The sikka and the squares. These elements played an important role in the past and therefore, the project tries to highlight the importance of these negative spaces in the present day.
